STEPS TO FOLLOW FOR FILLING OUT
LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS

FOR THE CLASS OF 2009

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION(S) DUE: APRIL 10, 2009

STEP 1: Start by picking up and filling out a Common Scholarship Application in the Guidance office. (See Mrs. Hale) Be sure to give her a copy of your Financial Aid Award letter from your college and your SAR from the FAFSA website. This information is required.

STEP 2: Look over the Scholarship List. Make sure you meet the qualifications in order to apply for each scholarship.

STEP 3: Check to see if they require the Common Application or a special application. If there is a redx” in the special app. column and the scholarship is listed in red, you need to pick up a special application in Guidance. Do not list these scholarships on your common app.

STEP 4: Be sure to read any special applications carefully to see if 1.) It has a different due date for submission, and 2.) If it requires a recommendation letter, essay, or other information.

STEP 5: Once you know which scholarships you qualify for, list those in black and the ones in red that use the common app. on the 2nd page of your application. All common applications will be kept in Guidance.

STEP 6: At anytime, you may come to Guidance and update your request sheet. The scholarship list will be updated daily until the due date, April 10, 2009. Check it often. Complete all applications and return them to Guidance no later than April 10, 2009.

PLEASE NOTE: YOUR COMMON APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETELY UPDATED BEFORE THE DUE DATE(S) LISTED.

APPLICATIONS TURNED IN AFTER THE DUE DATE,

APRIL 10, 2009

WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
